Rindunye..

I would never have imagined it that one day I would miss my students, and school and my routine as a teacher.

But right now, at this moment,
I REALLY MISS MY STUDENTS
After 7 years of being a teacher, it has ALWAYS crossed my mind to quit teaching for a lot of reasons (stupid school, stupid people,
stupid management) but somehow
when the faces of my dear, dear students flash through my mind, I really miss them, and I really wanna impart my knowledge of English and show them the wonders of the language and literature, to be their friend, the place for them to rely on etc etc. I know my students don't treasure me much but I only hope for the best of them..

I would like to name those students I miss so much, but I fear I may miss a few names and hearts would be wounded-If that happened, please forgive this senile teacher TT

-STAR students batch 2003-2007, especially the form ones in 2003, becuz I was their Form One Coordinator(If they even remember)
> librarians who endured me at the counter with Kak Ros

-SESERI students 2007-2009, especially
>my English set  5E 2008 who presented the best English Oral presentation EVER
>my English set 5B and 5G 2009 who were very amiable, hardworking and sweet!
> my librarians in 2008 and 2009 who worked with me through hell and beyond

I LOVE U GUYS ALL!! <3 <3

can't wait for the school to open!!

Ice cream flavour?

A national manufacturer of ice cream, Edy's Grand Ice Cream, commissioned an ice cream flavorology study to determine how ice cream preferences relate to personality. The study, conducted by Dr. Alan R. Hirsch (M.D.) neurological director of the smell and taste treatment and research foundation in Chicago, revealed that distinct personalities correspond with ice cream flavors.
According to the official taster for Edy's Grand Ice Cream, the flavorology research is fun "food for thought" to discuss around the dinner table. Before serving dessert, ask your family and friends to name their favorite ice cream flavor, then give them the scoop on their personality.

I LOVE CHOC

If you like chocolate, you are lively, creative, dramatic, charming, enthusiastic and the life of the party. Chocolate fans enjoy being at the center of attention and can become bored with the usual routine. Seductive, well-dressed, extroverted, easily influenced, a follower, intuitive, enjoys intimate relationships.

Prototype: Feminine woman, macho man

LOL

SO WHAT'S UR FLAVA?

Wanita itu Ibarat Epal

Hari ini saya menghadiri satu kursus khas anjuran
sekolah. Penceramah yang memberi taklimat itu
bagus orangnye, tapi saya rase terpanggil
membetulkan hujah beliau akan mengapa
persekitaran sekolah itu perlu cantik dan ceria-
beliau membandingkan persekitaran sekolah itu
dengan wanita. Kata beliau,
"Di dalam Islam, memilih isteri haruslah yang
cantik paras rupanya"

Masya Allah... Saya mengucap panjang. Beginilah
yang terjadi jikalau seseorang itu belajar sesuatu
sekerat jalan sahaja. Hadis Rasulullah SAW itu
bermaksud begini,

“Dinikahi seorang wanita itu kerana kecantikannya,
keturunannya,kekayaannya dan agamanya.
Maka, pilihlah dari segi agamanya, nescaya
beruntunglah kedua tanganmu,”

dan

Rasulullah saw bersabda yang maksudnya:
"Janganlah kamu kahwin dengan perempuan
kerana kecantikannya, kerana boleh jadi mereka
akan merugikan. Dan jangan kerana hartanya,
kerana boleh jadi mereka akan mendurhakai.
tetapi kahwinlah kerana agamanya.
Sesungguhnya seorang budak perempuan

kesimpulannya, memiih isteri biarlah kerana
agamanya, kerana wanita yang baik itu
adalah untuk lelaki yang baik. Dan janganlah
kita hanya belajar sesuatu sekerat jalan,
bimbang menyesat dan memudaratkan umat..

Saya akhiri post saya hari ini dgn mutiara kata
yang menyentuh jiwa saya,

"...Wanita itu ibarat buah epal, epal yang tidak
berkualiti amat mudah diperolehi kerana ia
berguguran ditanah..Tetapi epal yang tidak
mampu dibeli berada dipuncak, sukar untuk
dipetik, sukar untuk digapai..Kadang-kadang
epal itu risau, kenapalah diriku belum dipetik?
..Lantas ia merendahkan martabatnya dan
menggugurkan diri menyembah tanah,
sedangkan ia sebenarnya telah ALLAH jadikan
begitu tinggi martabatnya sehingga tiada siapa
yang berani memetiknya..Hanya pemuda yang
 benar-benar hebat sahaja yang mampu,
mungkin bukan di dunia tapi di akhirat sana,
 insya-Allah...Biarlah jodoh bukan didunia
asalkan cinta Ilahi mengiringi..."

I WANT NOBODY, NOBODY BUTCHA

A song I'm listening now to most ardently~~~

NOBODY-WONDERGIRLS

TRANSLATION
credits to: ndhas
You know I still love you baby
And it will never change
Chorus
I want nobody, nobody but you
I want nobody, nobody but you
I don’t want anyone else
I can’t have anyone but you
I want nobody nobody, nobody nobody
Why are you trying to push me away? I hate it.
You ignore what I am saying
Why are you trying to send me to other guys?
Why are you doing this?
Saying that this is for my own good
Saying that you are just not enough
Stop it right now, you know me well enough
Why are you forcing what you know I don’t want?
Chorus x2
I’m satisfied, I’m happy
If I have you I don’t want for anything else
Who do you want me to meet and be happy with?
I can’t be happy away from your side
Saying that this is for my own good
Saying that you are just not enough
Why can’t you understand that it makes no sense?
How can I be happy without you?
Chorus x2
I don’t want nobody, body body
I don’t want nobody, body body
Really, if it is not you
I hate it!
Chorus x2
Back to the days
When we were so young
And wild and free
Everything was just like a dream
I want to go back to those times
Why do you keep on pushing me away?
Why do you push me away?
I don’t want nobody, nobody
Nobody nobody but you

STUPIDITY IS CONTAGIOUS

Only TWO tings are infinite;
the universe and STUPIDITY
and I'm not sure about the FORMER

-Einstein

Today, someone pushed the blame
of a mistake someone else did on me.
and I STUPIDLY concurred and said
"Yeah, it might be my fault"

YES ALL PEOPLE WHO KNOWS ME,

Love That Transcends Time and Dimensions

The manga is finally over. After 6 years and 28 volumes,
CLAMP finally pullsthe curtains on Tsubasa RESERVoiR
CHRoNiCLE. To the uninitiated, the manga is about
Syaoran, an archeologist, who travels through dimension
and time in search of his childhood friend's Feathers of
Memories. Without those feathers, Sakura not only loses
her memories, but also her life. So he has to go across
time and dimensions and uncover the secret and
conspiracy that lies hidden behind the scattering of feathers..

CLAMP is my most favourite mangaka (comic artist in
Japanese) ever since I watched CardCaptor Sakura .
CCS fascinated me and a lot of people too till today.
And to those who are close to me would know that I really,
really love a character in CCS that caused me to read
Tsubasa and to want to name my son with his name
LOL LOL LOL. That character is of course
SYAORAN LI

I can't really pinpoint my obsession with him but hey I know
men-MEN, okay who have huge obsession/crush/admiration
towards him so mine is justified really. What I love most
about Syaoran Li is that he is a cool, rational, logical Tsundere.
Like most love stories, he was at first indifferent towards
Sakura Kinamoto whom he saw as his rival in gathering the
cards. But as they got to know each other, he begins to
admire Sakura's sincerity and determination, not to mention
her kindness. He understands her and helps her all
the way till Sakura manages to gather all the cards. They
seperate when he goes back to HK (they were 10)
but they reunite (they are 16) when he returned to Japan
permanently to be with her AWW...

anyway, going back to Tsubasa Chronicle, midway
of the story was draggy and the end left many
questions unanswered (which I have a feeling that
xxxhOLic will cover) but at least Syaoran managed
to say I LOVE YOU to Sakura.
HE IS THE MAN in Tsubasa and CCS YEAH!

I just love the ending parallelism:
-Both had Syaoran saying ILU first
-Both had Sakura reciprocating
-Both had the couples seperated;
Syaoran Li had to go back to HK and
Syaoran TRC had to continue his journey
-Both couples promised to see each other
again and they willwait for each other
-Sakura and Syaoran of CSS were reunited
and Syaoran and Sakura
of TRC were sure they will be reunited

ok, i would to spam this post with lotsa great pics of the
couple but I RESIST!!

I'll go b4 i bore u *wink wink*

SYAORAN 4EVA

Selamat Hari Raya everyone!!!

I have been meaning to do this post quite rightly before
Hari Raya but alas we cats had so many things to do
when Hari Raya is coming what with the house and the
food etc etc :)

And not to forget the school work that we carried home
that is my bane during hari raya this year. Why did I not
finish it before hr? well, if i want to have a dirty and
umpleasent house during hr maybe i could but we cats
would love a lovely house for hr lol lol lol

so this week i only visited my grandma's home
and spent some quality time with my family besides
entertaining the guests and also my exam papers..
in fact i'm writing this because i could not fall
asleep after finishing my stack of paper 2 at 3.30am
today. Maybe after this I will..

Oh, i have 2 more classes to go, 50 papers of
paper2 English waiting to make my hr dry
and making my nights sleepless and depriving
my skin from the much needed rest..

Inuyasha The Final Act

One fateful day, a high school girl falls into a mysterious well
and finds herself transported to Sengoku Jidai, or Feudal
Japan.
While trying to return to her own world, she sees
a figure impaled to a tree. She pulls out an arrow struck
to his heart and the figure, Inuysha wakes up- and that
stranger would then be the most important stranger in her life..

=>> Above was a simplified review of the manga Inuyasha,
or in English means Demon Dog.
I love this manga, well many people critique it for being too
long(Rumiko Takahashi's longest manga to-date) but hey,
at least it has a stronger and conclusive ending than Ranma 1/2
(oopss spoiler!!)

> well Inuyasha the anime series ended in the year 2004
but just adapted half of the manga. Since the manga had
ended last year, there will be another tv series to give the
audience their ending.

>Being a fan of the series (yes, I've watched all 167 eps)
this piece of news excites me. I know they would drag
the already draggy story but this IS inuyasha we're
talking about. Regardless of all the draggy and
inconceivable plots created to drag the main story, I
really enjoyed it (unless you are Kikyou fan, err...)
The hopeless romantic in me adores Kagome, and
wishes for someone as bratty and cute as Inuyasha LOL
Worse comes to worse I'll watch the last arc and
be at peace with it.

>Inuyasha is special to me because it was the anime
I watched in my undergrads days and I had made
a lot of friends because of it AND because it's 3rd
ending song
is like my fave song ever!!!

It is Dearest by Ayumi Hamasaki

Original / Romaji LyricsEnglish Translation
hontou ni taisetsu na mono igai subete sutete
shimaetara ii no ni ne
genjitsu wa tada zankoku de
It would be nice if we could put away and throw out
everything except what really mattered, but
reality is just cruel.
sonna toki itsu datte
me o tojireba
waratteru kimi ga iru
In such times,
I see you laughing
whenever I close my eyes.
itsuka eien no nemuri ni tsuku hi made
dou ka sono egao ga
taema naku aru you ni
Until the day I reach eternal sleep,
that smiling face will
have to stay with me without fail.
> the first time I head this song and reading it's translation,
I was mesmerized and lost. Inuyasha was cemented
in my mind and it's eternal summer shall not fade...

STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN

I have not posted for a few weeks yes I know. But a lot
of things happened that pushed me far from blogging.
I was busy with marking exam papers and
2 OF MY THREE KITTENS DIED within 2 weeks time.

SHIRO was the youngest and he died on my bed, on
25th August just 2 days before he would be
one month,

and this afternoon, JO GUK died beside me due to
respiratory problem. He was 6 weeks.

Now I'm only left with MIRAE and I hope
she'll last longer.

Honestly, this case of kittens dying are not
for me. My heart was broken TWICE and
I really miss them. I'm thinking of
neutering/spaying the parents so that
there'll be no more heartbreaks.
We'll see. For the time being, till
I get a lil bit happier, I won't blog.

But remember the Red River Valley

The Impending Sadness descends. Effectively today,
One of my best friends and colleagues, PN NANI AHMAD,
finally got her transfer to SMAT Tengku Ampuan Jemaah
which is very near to her house and would provide her
with so much more in her life than her previous engagement.

I've known her for TWO years but we clicked and became very
good friends easily. I think it was in her nature-she as very friendly,

amiable and benevolent. Circumstances in her life would have pushed
a lot of people to the brink but she is still around. Nani embodies what
I used to have in people around me-She embodies friendship, fun,
understanding and grace. Oh, and she teased me so much but she
coloured my life with her antiques and eccentricities.

I will remember her stories, her children and her benevolance.
Wherever she goes, she'll buy me a present, though just a keychain.
She is a keychain freak, ergo I have ALOT of keychains. LOL

TO NANI, I dedicate this song

From this valley they say you are going,
We will miss your bright eyes and sweet smile.
For they say you are taking the sunshine,
That has brightened our pathway awhile.
So come sit by my side if you love me.
Do not hasten to bid me adieu.
Just remember the Red River Valley,
And the one that has loved you so true.
(T_T)missing u already...

Shopaholic vs Diary

I MUST ADMIT that I used to love reading chick lit. It's like a reverse of sorts
since I started reading romance books since I was form four. Heck, whn I was
in Form 1, I read literary works like GREAT EXPECTATIONS and A TALE OF TWO CITIES.
And now I read children's books LOL

Ok, so I just finished the movie CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC and given the praises
the book it was based upon got, I felt intrigued and assumed that it would live up to its name
AND genre. However, I barely laugh at all during the whole course of movie and the movie
was DRY. Sigh. Where is the romance?

One thing I definitely like about this is Isla Fisher-she's such a sweet and darling person,
and enjoyable on screen. However nil chemistry with Hugh Dancy ORZ

WHICH reminds me of another movie which was fantastic-
THE DIARY OF BRIDGET JONES.[Photo]
I relate more to Bridget than Rebecca
in the movie. And of course I am PARTIAL to COLIN FIRTH. However Renee and Firth
make a lovely couple. Hugh Grant is a dish too, but in a bas****ly way hoho
I remembered watching Bridget Jones in my undergrads days and it struck me.
Mark Darcy's" I LIKE U JUST THE WAY U ARE" and "That was MY wife, MY heart.."
just killed me-and of course Bridget's BLUE SOUP-Hillarious!!

ok. I'm thinking of watching ATONEMENT but the ending was spoilt

for me..Should I watch?

PERKAMPUNGAN INTELEK 2009

Last Friday till Sunday, the Yearly Perkampungan Intelek for SESERI
was held at ROOM 6 PWTC. The schedule was pretty tight
and it started early in the morining and ends at 10.30 for two consecutive
nights excluding the third day that ended midday.

On Friday, 26th July there were 2 lectures handled by the English
Department, one was for EST and the other was for English Language.
I did not join for EST since I did not teach it this year (YAY!!) so i came
for the afternoon 2.30 session that ended at 4.40PM.

o
As usual, the lectures were done by Mr Tan Chong Ben, a regular
speaker for the school :)

I don't know how effective this perkampungan would be but
at least the girls got a change of scenario and I hope they would
have gained new insights immensely.

Cat Blues

Last nite, I went to an animal hospital in Jln Tun Razak.
My beloved cat, Yoyo had hematuria. I was panicked
and driven by my brother to this hospital.

Yoyo was hospitalized. Then I picked him up today
after school at 3PM. He seemed better and
his urine is back to its normal colour.

Ok, not that I'm not grateful that Yoyo is
recovering but the hospital bill was VERY VERY
EXPENSIVE. I was charged a whopping
RM 500 (or RM 496.50) for
-CONSULTATION -RM50
-HOSPITALIZATION-RM100 for 2 unnecessary days
-INTENSIVE CARE -RM80
-Tests (urine, blood, sediment)-RM80
-MEDICATION-RM 95+RM57.90

My biggest gripe is my cat was given
2 types of tablets-one is ClavamoxTM
and the other is a few of white pills.
I was also given Hill's Prescription Diet,
which is OK actually but I don't think the
pills would cost near RM100!!

And they charged my with hospitalization
though I really, vocally told the vet that it's
unnecessary (I check the net b4 going and
really, they should just give me the meds)

I'm not arguing anybody's creds here but this
is akin to DAYLIGHT ROBBERY. They were
just keeping him, it's not like he's critical
(I know what critical looks like ok cuz
I had a cat who was dying and had to go for
a major surgery) Even the surgery cost me
RM700 for the surgery and 3 days of hospitalization
plus the meds and I mean EVERYTHING.
How come Yoyo's not so serious condition
and I had to pay just a little less than
a do-or-die surgery?

Oh, and the over-the-counter staff were
not friendly too and the service was
not as fast as one would expect from
a very expensive hospital. Heck, they
did not even seperate rooms for
treating cats and dogs. I mean, hullo!!
Are u guys AWARE that Muslims can't
touch dogs?

One thing for sure, the hospital just got
a dissatisfied customer who will
not say anything nice about it. That visit
will my first and last visit too.

Anybody knows a clinic that has good
vet/service and reasonably priced?

Le Couple-Wishes

I felt like listening to 1998 again so I came up with this
lovely song.. hope u guys enjoy it as much as I do :3

I looked in the sky and there I saw a star shining so bright above
I closed my eyes and wished upon the star that I would fine true love
Someone who needed me
Someone to share my life
For a love that would be true
I would wait forever
So...no...matter how long it may be
I will be waiting
One star-brighter than the others
Two Hearts-beating for each other
I believe wishes really come true
Love at first sight I knew it from the moment when you said hello
I hoped you felt it too, but we both so shy-how was I to know
when you reached for my hand
I knew you were the one
We laughed and talked for hours like I'd known you forever
Like...a...dream or something from a book
True love had found me
One star-brighter than the others
Two Hearts-beating for each other
Noe I see wishes really come true
You just have to dream
Nothing's as bad as it seems
to be...believe me
Someone's waiting for you to try
There in the sky
One star-brighter than the others
Two Hearts-beating for each other
You will see wishes really come true
You can't stop believing-wishes do come true
You gotta believe me (wish on a star) wishes do come true...

H1N1

If one reads the article about H1N1, one might wonder, what have
been done to contain it? How serious is it?
The sad thing about this pandemic is that we simply DO NOT CARE, because NOBODY HAS DIED YET. Today, 10 UiTM students were confirmed to be infected. This is sad indeed. It is always, in times of crisis, that the poor and helpless people will suffer, and in this case, students.
"Meanwhile, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Mohd Ismail Merican said the number of Influenza A(H1N1) cases confirmed in the country was 835 cases that is 562 imported cases and 273 local cases."

How did it become so? 562 imported cases? Why did this
happen? Are the people aware that this is PANDEMIC?
Why did they still wanna go overseas, especially to
places that are infected, and did not protect themeselves
from catching it. And please, if u have fever or cold,
refrain from going public. Yes, we know u have never
gone out from Malaysia but we really don't know
whether the people you meet while shopping
haphazardly in Giant supermarket has it.

REMEMBER

1.
There is no vaccine currently that exactly matches the swine flu. aka there is NO REAL CURE for it

2.Making flu vaccine can take three to six months. No decision has been made to order a vaccine against swine flu.

3.Some pandemics kill a few million people globally. The most severe flu pandemic on record was the 1918 Spanish Flu. Researchers estimate it killed about 50 million people around the world.

4.PROTECT YOURSELF FROM IT
Personal hygiene measures, such as avoiding people who are coughing or sneezing and frequent hand-washing, may prevent flu infection. Those who aren’t health professionals should avoid contact with sick people. People who get sick with flu symptoms should stay home. Studies have suggested that closing schools, theaters, and canceling gatherings in the early stages of a pandemic can limit its spread. Such measures would likely take place if health officials determine that the virus is spreading quickly enough and is deadly enough to cause a pandemic.

kimchi jigae

...which translate to 'Kimchi Soup' huhuhu (*___*)

I LOVE KIMCHI. Do you guys know what kimchi is? It's a kind of
pickled cabbage which is almost like staple food for the
Korean people. It's eaten with almost whatever they eat.
It's spicy and tastes good-well, almost everyone in my family
likes it except the 'blue blood' aka I-don't-eat-those-foreign-eww
-what's-this aka my dad, Along, Atih and I have a suspicion that
all the people with Y chromosome in my house abhor it LOL

to make it short, the story is I MADE MY OWN KIMCHI @.@

a clearer view

It was a very tiring night. I bought myself some
napa (or in Malaysia it's Chinese cabbage) and the whole night
was spent on cleaning, cutting and soaking the vegetable in salt
water. The next morning I soaked them again in tap water
and mixed with the ingredients and packed them in a large
plastic container and kept it in the fridge for 1 month.
However, the result was very very good : )

well, then I made Kimchi soup which really is marvellous
(no, I'm not saying that I'm a good cook but this dish is
really nice) My mom loved it and that's something cuz
she's a fussy eater.
OK let's go to on how to cook this simple yet
delicious dish.
-First, you need to sautee some shallots and a lot
of garlic till it smells nice

-Then fried some chicken fillet(that were marinated with
soy sauce and mashed garlic).
-After that, sautee along a plate of kimchi

If you buy this at the store, it would cost about RM 8 per plate
of 100g whereas 1 kg of napa costs only RM 5 bucks.
-When the smell is nice, pour in some chicken broth
and some mushrooms (fresh or dried) and wait
till it boils.
wallah..the dish is ready to be served

it's very easy to make and it's also one of
the healthiest food in the world..! _*)P

BENEFITS OF KIMCHI:
1. Anti-cancer Effects and Heavy Metal Detoxification
2. Increasing Immunity & Anti-Cancer Effect
3. Helps Prevent Cardiovascular Disease, Myocardial Infarction and Hardening of the Arteries
4. Slowing Down the Aging Process
5. Diet effect & Prevent overweight

p/s: anybody who wants to taste kimchi or kimchi jigae,
you guys can comet o my house anytime, but do
give me a ring before coming ya :3

From Romeo and Juliet

I have always admired Shakespeare for so many reasons. His works are
incomparable till today. My first acquaintance with him was the sonnet
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day. Since then, his works have
never stopped fascinating me. This excerpt from Romeo and Juliet
for example, is a sonnet, in a form of a conversation between
Romeo and Juliet after meeting each other for the first time.

ROMEO
[To JULIET.]
93 If I profane with my unworthiest hand
94 This holy shrine, the gentle sin is this:
95 My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand
96 To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss.

JULIET
97 Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much,
98 Which mannerly devotion shows in this;
99 For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch,
100 And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss.

ROMEO
101 Have not saints lips, and holy palmers too?

JULIET
102 Ay, pilgrim, lips that they must use in prayer.

ROMEO
103 O, then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do;
104 They pray — grant thou, lest faith turn to despair.

JULIET
105 Saints do not move, though grant for prayers' sake.

ROMEO
106 Then move not, while my prayer's effect I take.

Should I put 21PL for this post? ;p
Yes, the poem is about Romeo asking Juliet's permission to
kiss her, but I am really amazed with the analogy, as if Juliet
is a shrine, and he is a pilgrim.
Simply amazing and romantic <3<3

PENANG TRIP

Forgive my absence from blogging thses past few days.
It was very busy in school, what's with the marking, remarking,
the trip and duties as the library teacher in school.
But today's post is dedicated sole for the nicest (and most
tiring) 3 days spent in Penang.

Here is actually the pic we took with the very
sweet Syed Syeh's librarians. No other pictures available
because there were no other pics :p
Actually I brought my camera but after we visited
SMSTSSS (the back of their bus was written SOKSEK)
I left my cam in the bus at Bukit Bendera, and
there was an upset in Queensbay Mall, so I didn't
take pictures and the next day we returned to school.
Okay, I'm no photograph savy but circumstances
forced me to not be able to shoot pics.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT PENANG
-nice places, cheap hotels
-a lot of attractions to visit
-white sandy beach
-Pasar Chowrasta
-Nasi Kandar
-cheap food, if not cheap, they'd give u abundance of it

It was nice. I definitely wanna visit Penang again.

why darling darling?

Maybe some of you were wondering why did I name
my blog 'DARLING DARLING'
Well, it's because I really love a song titled
Shirushi(proof) by Mr Children.
To me it's a powerful song, sung effortlessly
by the lead vocal, it's heart wrenching and
melancholic at the same time.
I really adore the arrangement of the song,
plus it has orchestra-like background,
if anybody knows me, I am an obsessed
classical music fan.
Check out the song and lyric, and tell me
whether you agree with me ;-)

SIMPLY AMAZING! Now, if you'd
excuse me, gotta go find a hanky.. TT

Literal Meaning

so often in literature, students takes a literary
work by its literal meaning i.e. the true meaning.
However, the beauty of literature is that most
works have literal and figurative meaning.
According to englishclub.com,

"We use figures of speech in "figurative language"
to add colour and interest, and to awaken the imagination.
Figurative language is everywhere, from classical works
like Shakespeare or the Bible, to everyday speech,
pop music and television commercials. It makes t
he reader or listener use their imagination and understand
much more than the plain words."

In fact, most of the time we use figurative language
to express ourselves. Yet, when figurative language
is taken literally, the result would be disastrous and
downright hillarious, A case in point:

WHY MEN DON'T LIKE TEACHING

A response to a post by my friend, I personally think
that men avoids teaching because of all the markings
and clerical work involved in the profession.

A research done by NUTP discovered that teachers
in Malaysia generally fill in roughly about 1,000
forms per year-this of course includes

  • before school starts- fill in the students data
  • when school start - prepare and fill in attendance
in the register book daily
-issue receipts for fees once or twice
-mark their exercise daily
- do lesson plans daily
-do handouts for lessons daily
-do paperwork for clubs, trips a lot
-fill in forms for trips sparringly
-prepare exam papers monthly
-mark exam papers (OUCH!!) painfully
- prepare headblowingcounts excruciatingly
-write achievement records/report cards cynically
-write testimonials tiredly
-write referrals smilingly

  • School Holidays -mark major exams' papers like SPM holidaylessly

and those are just what I remember at the time of writing.

Oh, and by the way
I AM MARKING PAPERS NOW LOL
