Movie Review: Postman to Heaven

I just finished Postman to Heaven, one of the telecinema aired by SBS last year. The story is about Jaejoon, who is tasked with the duty of solving people’s problem. He is assigned to a special mail post in the middle of a green field, and the mailbox only receives letters of bereaved families trying to cope with the loss of their loved ones-they sent letters to Heaven, hoping their loved ones' answers.

The catch is, he is neither a ghost nor an angel; thus, he can’t be seen by anyone except people who suffered the loss and the more they are deep in sadness, the better he is seen. Jaejoon meets with a chirpy, motormouthtastic Hana who discovers his secret, and he employs her to help him in his quest. Hana lost his boyfriend and sent a rude letter to his bf LOL. Together, they solve the sender's sadnessor whatever crap they are feeling and in the process they both fall in love (D’AWW) but one day, one of their customer, caught them cheating, and Jaejoon has to hang up his wings..

They ate a bento a grieving mother made for her dead son and

 then pretended the son ate it and liked it @.@

Her laughter..is infectious <3

They faked a DNA test to make sure a father believes his wife didn't cheat on him before she died

They were caught faking a tape recorder that is supposed to be from the man's dead son; his remorse was he could never show how much he loves his son b4 the son died

as Hana starts to forget his ex dead bf because of Jaejoon, Jaejoon cannot be seen anymore :'(

I love it! At first I was not interested to watch as I was more keen into another title in the telecinema series, but after watching this, I was glad I watched it. I just love the theme of redemption and long lost love. I also love just how spunky Hana is, and Han Hyo Joo played her perfectly. Hero of TVXQ played Jaejoon, though not as strong as Han Hyo Joo, but he is adequate and believable enough to be ‘a postman to heaven’. Guess that angelic face has its uses HARHAR

Oh, and it was written by Kitagawa Eriko, who wrote LONG VACATION and 

BEAUTIFUL LIFE And directed by Lee Hyung Min, the director of WINTER SONATA 

and SORRY I LOVE U

my brother: I don't understand why Gin said he doesn't want Rangiku to cry?

Me: cuz he loves her, idiot!

My brother: wha-when?

Me: at earlier episodes, remember they were childhood friends, and when he was caught by Rangiku before he went up the sky with Aizen, even when he could just kill Rangiku easily, Gin let himself be caught.(though he’s waaay more powerful than Rangiku) And when the light from menos covered him, he said to Rangiku,

“I’m sorry, If only you held on a little longer..” That proves it.

My brother: those things happened? Really? I don’t remember a thing

Me: sigh.. ><

[Second Conversation]

Me: IchigoxOrihime pisses me off. I’m more towards IchigoxRukia. What about you?

My Brother: what the hell are you talking about?

Me: I mean, who should end up with Ichigo, Orihime or Rukia?

My Brother: Why must one of them end up with him? They are all just friends..!

Me: They’re not just ‘friends’. Ichigo went through Soul Society for Rukia and Hueco Mundo for Orihime.

He must have feelings for them.

My Brother: Yeah-it’s called FRIENDSHIP

Me: Come on-you want Ichigo to say ‘I Love U’? That’s too direct

My Brother: Yep,what’s romance gotta do with BLEACH. It’s a shounen manga for god’s sake

Me: hmmph

Conclusion: I read BLEACH for the subtleties, interactions and character developments. My brother reads BLEACH for pure action.

Jamuan Hari Raya SESERI 2010

             Today, there was the annual Jamuan Hari Raya done at the Gelanggang Anggerik Sari in  SESERI. I won't comment much, enjoy the photos since they say, a picture says a thousand words...

'Peace' from students-cum-food severs XXPPP

 It was nice but the food choices were kinda boring. We had limited budget this year,

I think. But the Secret Recipe's Butterscotch and Chocolate Indulgence were heavenly

and the nasi kerabu from Onci's stalls were nice too. Here's for next year!! :DDDD

Perbualan Guru Sekolah dan Guru Tuisyen

GS: Frust mgajar

GT: nape??

GS: pendidikan semakin teruk. Kerja bukan p&p makin bertambah sampai xde mase menanda buku.

GT: eleh tapi balik awal gak

GS: sbb guru sblh petang nk duduk. Kesian la. Aku setuju peperiksaan upsr, pmr kene mansuh

GT: mane boleh. Abih tuh camner nk select bdk masuk uni?

GS: buatlah selection and interview. Uni tuh sndr buat spy dia dpt amik students yg macamana sesuai dgn uni dier.

GT: abih tu, xde exam, cikgu lagila x mengajar. Makan gaji bute la ooi

GS: x kan semuanye gitu. Ingat senang nk jadi cikgu, amik jer maner2 org tepi jalan. Kitaorang melalui interview serta pemerhatian sahsiah yg ketat woo.. kalau x takkan dilepaskan ke sek..

GT: kalau camtuh, knape bisnes tuisyen makin laku

GS: kegagalan system pendidikan dan fobia ibu bapa

GT: terang sket

GS: sekarang masih lagi teacher-oriented and spoon feeding dlm klas. Murid hanya dengar dan belajar dgn guru. Matila cikgu. Sepatutnya kena buat active learning, where the students discover knowledge while teacher just guide/facilitate. Ini semua cikgu beri, pelajar2 kita hanyalah robot yg bergerak bile butang dipicit dan kaak tua yang mengulang2 apa yang diajar dan cakap tp sendiri x paham ape yg dickpkan

GT: tapi dtudents suke spoon feeding kan

GS: memangler suke. Sape x suke duduk pastu orang suapkan makanan ke dalam mulut cam raja. Masalah akan timbul bler ke uni. Caranya amat berbeza. Pelajar2 yg biase spoon feeding akan susah. Lecturer hanya ajar yg basic. Yg lain students cari sendiri. One attains his own knowledge. So students yg robot hanya akan bace buku2/ bab yg disuruh shj. Students kakak tua x dapat mengutarakan pendapat sendiri to facilitate learning. Lecturer akan frust, result students akan turun dan students akan stress sebab mase kat sek dia yg paling pandai..

GT: habih tu nape ramai pi tuisyen

GS: pasal system pendidkan kite exam oriented. Di sek, keputusan adalah segala galanya. Cara paling mudah nk lulus periksa ialah dengan drilling atau latih tubi. Pelajar akan buat drilling berbulan2 lamanya sebelum periksa. X caya pegi jer maner2 sek. Burung kakaktua, ajar hari2 pun boleh cakap cam manusia tapi percakapn xde makne. Singa ajar lompat api hari2 pun boleh pandai. Inikan manusia.

GT: abihtu, nape ramai yg pegi tuisyen lebih bagus berbading dgn x pegi tuisyen.

GS: tuition is a form of drilling. Kan dah kate, lebih drilling lebih lekat. Tp lepas abih exam, kosong balik, Ramai stdnts sy kat uni yg mengadu x ingat ape yg dipelajari disek. Ramai yg kantoi matriks.

GT: abih tuh, pe care utk blajar yg berkesan?

GS: buat cam kat uni, research, presentation, assignment.

GT: banyak masalah tu. Aku mase sek dlu pun byk cikgu suruh buat presentation tp aku x dapat ape2 pun. Cikgu aku senang jer kerje dier. Lebih baik mengajar. Kawan2 aku present pun x betul content.

GS: Itulah, bukannye salah presentation itu, tp cara presentation itu diberi. Guru kenalah ajar cara buat presentation. Sediakan materials seperti website yg boleh digunakan, buku2 dan majalah. Guru kenelah buat homework dlu.  Pastu sebelum present, double check content dgn budak2 spy diaorg tak present content yg salah. Lepas present, buat discussion, bincang merit presentation tu.

GT: tapi research, peresntation ngan assignment tuh skill yg tinggi. Susah bdk kite

GS: Semua bende pd permulaanya susah. Lepas kite dilahirkan, tahu tak kenapa baby menangis? Sebab dia sakit paru2 dia baru mule digunakan utk bernafas. Tapi lepas tuh, xde mende pun.

GT: Ishh… tapi xde exam camner nk tau students mane pandai nk masuk uni. Lagipun bdak lagila x blajar kat sek, main2 jer..

GS: x perlulah mansuhkan ujian, cume kuotanye turunkan sket. Contohnye, 30% ujian,40% assignment, 10% kehadiran 20% kokurikulum. Cube kau pk, kalau ade major exams yg totally 100%. Apa akan jadi bile ade sorang student yg sgt bagus, pandai, rajin aktif di sek, kire pelajar harapan. Tapi minggu exam dia demam. Tapi dia still amik UPSR. Tp sbb dia demam, result dia x bagus. X frust ke budak tuh? Kan musnah mase depan dier.

GT: beria2 benar ko ni..

GS: yelar.. aku pun mangsa spoon feeding gak.  Mase kat sek bodo nk mampus. Lepas msk uni, aku berkawan dgn students Cina. Diaorang beritahu aku, lecturer bagi senarai sepuluh buah buku sbgai bhn rujukan utk satu2 subjek, tp kami wajib beli 2 buku shj. Abih tuh knp lecturer senaraikan 10? Sbb lecturer nk kami cari buku2 itu sndri di perpustakaan, pinjam dan put a bit effort to study using that book. Aku ikut cara mereka belajar. Aku pergi ke perpustakaan bace buku, journal2 yg berkaitan. Hasilnya akulah yg sekarang. Kawan2 aku bersuka ria dengan usia mude mereka tp aku belajar pi perpustakaan.

GT: Alah system pendidikan skang melahirkn ramai cendikiawan gak

GS: ye, tp skang zaman dah berubah. Dahulu ilmu hanya pada guru dan buku. Skang ilmu sgt mudah utk didapati melalui internet. Jadi cara mesti berubah mengikut zaman..

GT: ape2 la labu. Kalau dengar ko ckp sampai esok x abih..

GS: memangler, sbb aku bkn kakaktua yg x tahu apa yg dia cakap hahaha

INHUMAN

The Star came up with a very good cover on PETS. As a happy 2 years and counting cat owner, I am happy that a mainstream newspaper actually cared enough about pets to do a probe and investigated the issue.

Yes, it’s true that certain places have these bogus vet. How to know? Your pet’s condition becomes worse or the worst died because of misdiagnose. My auntie said she knew a vet who diagnosed her cats to death. I also knew one vet who said my kitten would do fine but it died on the way home.

Thank God for a vet near my house in SG. At first when I sent my cat to her, she seemed too young and incompetent. But after a few times, and after consulting other vets in KL, I find her very competent. Her age misled me but her words are good. Apparently, the animal healthcare world is very young, and the younger the vet, the better they are (Is this true?) And UPM apparently produces very, very good veterinarians, on par with developed nations’!

One reader in Harian Metro apparently was pissed-off that certain animal lovers (like me!) were angry and disturbed at the way the department involved  put down the dogs owned by the main suspect of the SosilawatI murders. The dogs were owned by the suspects, and since he was remanded two weeks ago, his dogs had not been fed and have been scurrying around eating stock animals at other estates. With complaints received, they tracked down these dogs and put them down with high dose of tranqulisers that killed them. How INHUMANE! Ok, first things first-

1. The dogs were eating other animals because they were HUNGRY and STARVING. Please don’t think they could endure it because they were strayed animals, they are pets!!
2. The owner IS the one being accused as the murderer, not the dogs. Why put the blame on the animals? Oh, the owner used the dogs to threaten Sosilawati? Again, it WAS THE OWNER!!
3. The dogs could been tranquilised and brought to animal centres. Oh, it would incur more fund? Oh please, I’d rather spend my taxes on these animals than on multibillion mega projects that is nothing (remember PKFZ)and is only to enrich the pockets of certain people!
4. Kenapa bising2 psl anjing, sedangkan kisah mengenai nyawa manusia x dibisingkan? -that’s what the reader write. Hello, when did we say we are not horrified or sad about the murders? The newspapers write about it EVERYDAY at the front page. Did we say anything? And just because they are dogs, they have no right to live? No wonder Islam has bad PR.

Rasulullah (SAW) said: “Anyone who kills even a sparrow for no reason (should know that) it will cry aloud to Allah on the Day of the Resurrection, saying, “O my Lord! So-and-so killed me just for fun; he killed me for no reason!” ‘(Sunan An-Nasa’i)

When life..

It has quite a long time since I last posted. Actually there were so many things happening in my life and being the Ramadhan month too, a lot of things needed to be done and taken care off.

So, most of the time you can actually get me on fb but I mostly go there for my students. I rarely updated my stats cuz I'm not the type of person who reveals my inner feelings. And when I did, like in my last post, I lost a few 'acquaintances'-I call them that because they were not my friends. If they cannot accept my opinions and my beliefs, but not telling them to my face but I get to hear from everybody else, were we really friends?

And within the duration of one month, a lot of things happened-betrayal, back stabbing, hypocrisy all were revealed. A once good friend proved to be the undoing of all. I will never forgive them. Till the next world, I will never.

I could never understand why these things happened to my family. We never hurt anybody. We are not perfect-sometimes I do feel jealousy towards other people, but I have never ever felt the need to go THAT FAR. It is against my religion, my faith and belief and what I know is good and true.And to show up during Hari Raya like they were angels sent from above, when insides contained such unspeakable malice, is beyond my comprehension.

Now my family are torn apart. Thank god my mom brought us up to be able to differentiate between good and evil. This year we had less houses to go and less people visiting us. But it's ok. Tak luak pun.

I believe one day Truth Shall Prevail and Death Is True, and The Day of Judgment Is Impending.
