The Blaming Game

Here we go again. My response to the article-

1.  Numbskull :(

2. Please look into the exams and how it is marked. It’s 90% grammar. 

   Only if the paper survives the red pen only then it will go into the 

   A (42 ABOVE FROM 50) band. Nothing inside matters. As long as

   the grammar is perfect.

3. I tried to make Eng fun by using LCD, youtube and making it 

   interactive. The problems I face-the lack of facilities, and then the

   no-support from the higher ups. They don’t allow me to teach 

   anything else than exam things to Form 5 and for Form 4 I have to 

   instill the correct way to answer the exam paper. SUCKS

4. Frickin Exams. Every  2 months-March, May, Aug, Oct. June is a 

  hols. Where’s the time to study and get plenty of exposure?

5. Apparently, if you don’t sound like the Queen, your Eng is no good. HUH?

6. I am a TESL graduate. We focus on COMMUNICATING. 

   Schools and exams focus on GRAMMAR/STRUCTURE. See the clash? 

   See why we Eng teachers are seen as impotent?

I like this article though I think the text book is blameless.

It's What Dreams Are Made Of

It always happens like this. I would crave for something, or fall in love

with something, and my mom would have the same feeling, or cravings. 

This has happened so often I lose count of how many times it occurs.

You see, I don’t live with my mom since Mom and dad moved to

Seremban in 2007. And I’m the type who don’t call my parents if

there’s no emergency (I’m not proud of that really) cuz I was brought

up to make calls only when there’s an emergency. Living with 7 siblings

on a tight budget made one the daughter of a strict family.

And I’m also the kind of person who bottles my feelings cuz I don’t 

wanna burden Mom and dad with my problems as they have enough

problems on their plates already. But the thing is, though me and my 

Mom were separated for 70km far, we often buy the same things or

crave the same food. NO KIDDING.

Let’s say I wanna buy something and I didn’t tell a soul about it, and 

on weekends when I return to Seremban my Mom would have it too. 

For example

I fell for this beautiful apple green sieve, and though I can’t bake to save my life, I bought it as a collection, in case, I am suddenly inspired to bake, and then I went home to Seremban, I found out mom bought the similar sieve from the same place!

Lemang and rendang cravings during non-festive season and we both bought them at pasar malam heh

We enjoyed the same drama and fell head over heels on the same hero-TWICE! LOL and I didn’t know mom watched the same drama too

Went to ROMANTIKA shop on different occasion but bought the same plants for our respective houses LOL

The Seremban house would have something that my house has that we don’t know each other has LOL

Last weekends, I had a craving for those dates on branches, so I bought a box for myself. It turns out Mom also had a craving and told my sis about it WEIRD

For your information, my mom and me are as different as day and night..

I mean in temperamental and anything. She’s fierce but very kind,

hard working, creative, and she could do something once she puts

herself to do it. Oh the numerous cakes we ate whenever my mom

tried a new recipe, and even when she’s half blind (yes, she is now)

She managed to learn to sew her own bag made from leather O.O

that’s how impressive she is

Me? Just negate evryhing written about her above LOL

What is this SIMILAR INCIDENTS called? Telepathy?  

Shared consciousness? People may dismiss this as “It Runs In The 

Family” kinda thing but REALLY?

Or is it The Matrix? Ok j/k

DISGUSTING

Sometimes I wonder what goes in other people’s head.

Or maybe, there’s NOTHING AT ALL.

Or maybe the literal ‘heart’ is only to pump

Blood into your literal brain that, if were to be weight,

Would be 0 thinking and –functioning.

NO, I don’t think RM400 justifies the murder she

did to the kitten. She shouldn’t be fined with money

but she should be stomped like what she did to the

kittens… she is sorry? Yeah rite. More like she’s sorry

cause her sorry ass is on theline. Be the bigger person

and forgive her? Ask that from the dead kittens, not

from me nor the society. The kittens say ‘yes’ then

it’ll all be fine and dandy. If not

Curious

DRIVING IN THE CAR

ME            : daymn, I’m so curious where this road will lead to..

                    let’s go and check shall we?

STUDENT: Well teach, they say ‘Curiosity Killed The Cat’..

ME           : Then you’re lucky.. I’M NOT A CAT so obviously

                    we’re going LOL

STUDENT: hmmph (- -)

AFTER 20 MINUTES

ME           : It’s official then-we’re LOST.

                 Well at least nobody died HAHAHA :3

Unpredictable Weather's Coming!!

According to Bernama, for the next three months, the weather would be unpredictable, with rain and heat wave doing its spell perhaps interchangeably and stealthily.  All these, plus the haze we’re getting from our closest ally, Indonesia.

Which explain very well why, last night, it was so hot to sleep in, but in the morning, it was raining. These weather changes might, you know, influence your health.. as it did mine. I had a fever this morning and by afternoon, it faded..

The Ministry of Health advised everybody to ‘maintain a healthy lifestyle’ to face the upcioming weather-though I doubt we should adopt a healthy lifestyle for this, when we should adopt a healthy lifestyle because WE MUST!!

Among the Healthy Lifestyle mentioned are wearing face masks and drinking plenty of water..

BTW, people, you SHOULD NOT DRINK MORE THAN 8 LITRES PER DAY OR YOU MIGHT DIE. SERIOUSLY.

If you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Lately, I've seen a lot of this malaise, especially in FB. I don't understand why some people have the audacity to impose their opinions on others, when the person is only expressing his view. If you are against what he believes in, don't get worked up too much, and understand that in this world we are as different as snowflakes and everybody is entitled to his opinions. Stalking and harassing his status and wall won't solve anything and will only strengthen his resolve. A docile rabbit would bite the lion that cornered it.

And when you express your views, we get it you’re venting, and we respect it. So we would like the same courtesy from you. Stop espousing your ideology with the naïve thinking that it will change the world. Most probably it will not and never will.

I understand the world that we live in is imbalanced.  What saddens me is that there exists double standards-yes, total fairness and just could never be achieved as we are all just humans, but please, not as visible and transparent as that. Let me illustrate. There are two posters in Face book-one sided with A and the other sided with B. Side A is Napoleon, as in The Animal Farm and side B is Snowball, from the same story. A poster of Side A  could post his vents and escape with it, but another of the other side, posts her vents and is criticized, being called with names and have stones thrown upon her.  The first poster is scot-free and as nobody has ‘lynched’ him, THUS ASSUMES HE IS RIGHT AND ALL HIS ACTIONS COMMENDABLE, when it’s just his opinions. The former has not been lynched like the latter poster because his statements ‘are allowed’, according to the authoritarians of Napoleon and the latter is spurned and burned at the stake for having a different opinion from the general crowd. The great unjust is BOTH VOICES must be heard. You hate Side B poster and what she says? Fine and GET ON WITH IT. That’s what democracy is. Not launch a crusade to ‘kill’ her views and silent her.

Let me end my humble volition by quoting Valerie Page's valediction from V for Vendetta,

Time Management for Teachers (And You!)

 Time management is COOL. Teachers are COOL. That makes this a COOL vid.

Honestly, this vid is great for everybody-be it students or anyone who want to
advance their career, Being a slob has its merits (not discriminating here)
but getting your life organised would be less of a hassle.

I personally has a tracking list (OY VEY :3) and General To-Do List
but I think I shall start with the Must-Do List and the folder thingy. Oh,
and by the way, SICK LEAVE-WHAT IS THAT? (pretends ignorance)
It's true though, that having a sick leave makes your work doubled...

And I LOVE the CLINCHER... SUMMER HOLIDAYS!!!
(though we don't get that in Msia but HO YAY!!)
