The Hawtness that is Oberyn Martell

Game of Thrones is one sick, sick series. But I still follow it, just to know the final fate of The Starks. I. LOVE. THE.STARKS. It breaks my heart every time I see them not with each other because they have gone through so much. And now that the three eldest in the family are gone, the young uns are left.

Oh and other families come into the series too. But I hurt for The Starks so much, I cannot accept anyone else, And then came the Martells, or specifically Oberyn Martell, The Prince of Dorne.

When he first appeared, I disliked him. He's too sexed up. And he stabbed a man's hand just because he's a Lannister. And then, we are told of his reasons, his motives, his drives. Why he hates the Lannisters and how sexily hawt capable he is.

 He's called 'The Red Viper' because he learned about poisons. He famously defeated a fearsome enemy and laced his sword with poison. And he's very, very loyal. Like a Stark. You'll find nobody as loyal as him in the series. He hates the Lannisters because when they coup de ta for The Iron Throne, The Mountain 'Ser Gregor Clegane' raped and killed her sister, Elia and her children. And he's still waiting for his turn to pay for what they did to her.

A little background on the House of Martell. The rulers of Dorne. And this is a BADASS house. Even Tywin admits he needs the Martells because of the threat from the east of 'a mother of dragons'. The only land never defeated by dragons was Dorne and the de facto leader of Westeros, Tywin Lannister even needs them!

And God, can he dress or can he dress? I mean look at his marvellous dress. Open collar, bright colors and long surcoat. When he walks, he reminds me of a tiger prowling into enemy's lair  RAWR.

Oh, and his children, all 8 of them are badasses on their own. They are called the Sand Snakes, because they are the daughters of The Red Viper and pretty much share the same feral hotness  ferocity as their father.

And credits must be given to the actor who played him, Pedro Pascal. He imbues and embellishes all the character perfectly and I like all his mannerisms and even his accent. Uh oh and when he makes himself the Champion for Tyrion on the above image, I melted. Good God that man can pose!

How Do You I Love Thee ? Let Me Count The Ways

I knew it. Ok I didn't. But I did think something will happen. But not this. NOOOOOO

I don't know about the rest of the viewers but Agent Fitz and Agent Simmons from Marvel's Agent of SHIELD are my favourite agents (yes, even more than Coulson). Both agents, bff since college years, he in engineering, she in bio-chem, have undeniable chemistry that they are called SCIENCE SIBS by fans, of course, emulating the SCIENCE BROS tag given deservedly to Bruce Banner and Tony Stark.

I mean what's not to love about them? Both are clever and beautiful and nerdy LOL. But they are so important to one another, they're like siblings-with Jemma (Simmons) playing the older sister. They are each other's strength-they finish each other's sentence and thoughts and they know and understand what the other is feeling. 

Like that episode when Jemma was infected by an alien virus and had like minutes to die? Uh oh. First time seperated from Fitz since they were roped into SHIELD

she decided to jump from the plane (because she would combust. Don't ask)

and Fitz was yelling OMG

And that episode when they were questioned...

Fitz's answer is very sweet

And so in the season's finale, SPOILERSSSSS

They were trapped inside a box, dropped into the ocean. At first they thought they're gonna die but they figured out a way to save themselves. The catch was, they're 90 feet deep, and the oxygen was only for one. WHY? WHY? So in a heartbreaking scene, Fitz told Jemma that she's gonna use the oxygen because she's the better swimmer etc etc. But Jemma refused

And Fitz said "You're more than that " I JUST CAN'T. And he proceeded by saying something that tugged and made my heart ached the whole night

He shoved the oxygen thingy to Jemma and when Jemma shouted "NOOOOOO!" heartbreakingly- damn that girl knows her stuff, Fitz pushed the button on that box and they were out of the box. Of course, 

Fitz is unconscious. Is he dead? Well, almost but he had not received oxygen for some time and Coulson's words were " He will never be the same"

Well for one thing, I'm glad he didn't die because this is Whedon we're talking about. He has killed a lot of favourite characters in his series before (like Doyle in ANGEL) just as a catalyst for the others. And he's very good at creating chemistry and  pain when he separates them (Wesley and Fred in ANGELor Buffy and Angel) I just hope Fitz's character will not be rendered less because come on, Ian de Caestecker is a treasure and Elizabeth Hendstridge is a delight, that it is really strange that my screen hasn't exploded every time they are in a scene together!!

And I'm excited for season 2 because I know Whedon would do something fantastic because it's Whedon! Maybe turn Fitz into a badass or evil OMG I'm taking it too far!

Hmm...interesting. I answered an online test, a personality test, because I'm a sucker for those kind of tests. Aand what do I get? Well according to Jung, I'm INFP-Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling and Perceiving. What does that mean? It means, err, you can read the description below. Introverted Feeling

INFPs live primarily in a rich inner world of introverted Feeling. Being inward-turning, the natural attraction is away from world and toward essence and ideal. This introversion of dominant Feeling, receiving its data from extraverted intuition, must be the source of the quixotic nature of these usually gentle beings. Feeling is caught in the approach- avoidance bind between concern both for people and for All Creatures Great and Small, and a psycho-magnetic repulsion from the same. The "object," be it homo sapiens or a mere representation of an organism, is valued only to the degree that the object contains some measure of the inner Essence or greater Good. Doing a good deed, for example, may provide intrinsic satisfaction which is only secondary to the greater good of striking a blow against Man's Inhumanity to Mankind.

Extraverted iNtuition

Extraverted intuition faces outward, greeting the world on behalf of Feeling. What the observer usually sees is creativity with implied good will. Intuition spawns this type's philosophical bent and strengthens pattern perception. It combines as auxiliary with introverted Feeling and gives rise to unusual skill in both character development and fluency with language--a sound basis for the development of literary facility. If INTPs aspire to word mechanics, INFPs would be verbal artists.

Introverted Sensing

Sensing is introverted and often invisible. This stealth function in the third position gives INFPs a natural inclination toward absent- mindedness and other-worldliness, however, Feeling's strong people awareness provides a balancing, mitigating effect. This introverted Sensing is somewhat categorical, a subdued version of SJ sensing. In the third position, however, it is easily overridden by the stronger functions.

Extraverted Thinking

The INFP may turn to inferior extraverted Thinking for help in focusing on externals and for closure. Prince of Lan Ling

I don't recall how I got to this wonderful drama series titled 'Prince of Lan Ling' (Prince of Orchid Hill) Maybe it was between all my obsession with Jin Yong's Condor Series and somehow I remembered I had this soul crush with a supporting character from 'Wind and Cloud 2' 10 years ago. I didn't remember his name but if I see him again, I'd know. So after further research, to my surprise he has become quite a household name in China and rightfully so. And finding out that he had a series with Ariel Lin, I quickly watched the drama series and I. LOVE. IT!!

First off, I thought this would be like a war drama. It is but honestly it's more towards heart tugging romance which is, if done well, would be awesome in my book. Yes i hate cheesy. I only love cheesy wedges.

The title character is played by Feng Shao Feng. Yes, he is the actor whom I have had a crush since 10 years ago. Lan Ling Wang exists in history. Renowned as One of the Most Handsome (READ: BEAUTIFUL) Men in Ancient China, he was also famous as a very great general, undefeatable even. He was also, according to history, very kind and benevolent and cared for his country very much. The problem was that he was so beautiful his enemies did not fear him thus he wore a scary mask in war. Unfortunately he died in his 30s after drinking poison wine sent by the Emperor who was his cousin. This drama series is about and around that, and of course a love story.

I would to say that this series had a good cast. I loved all of them-so perfect in their roles!

Daniel Chan played the third person in the love triangle-he plays Yuwen Yong, the Zhou Emperor who falls for Lan Ling Wang's wife, Xue Wu played by the ever effervescent Ariel Lin. Xue Wu of course is no ordinary lady. She's from a heavenly clan and whoever has her support shall rule. So there's quite some chasing in the story.

Then we have George Hu who plays An De Wang, the brother to Lan Ling Wang. I like his characterization so much. And his character is very very funny and naughty as he often becomes the matchmaker between Lan Ling Wang and Xue Wu.

Han Xiao Dong played by Wei Qian Xiang is also another interesting character. He has a crush on Xue Wu as she is his saviour so he stays by her side. But he's not needy or dependent or sth, he's like a loyal bestfriend. Cool character!! And it helps that he's easy on the eyes too *wink wink*

I can't put it what I love about this...is it because of the shoujo manga-ish or am I that smitten with Feng Shao Feng? But let me tell u sth, I haven't enjoyed a lot of Chinese drama, the last one was 'Fated to Love You' and that was in 2006. But this one made me lose sleep and it's worth it!

Oh and the theme songs were pretty fantastic! My favourite is Ming Yun by Jia Jia but the opening song by Mayday and closing by Della were pretty melodious too!

My Best Memory (1)

                            If you don't know, when I was in the university, I had to take another language. Yes. I had to take mandarin because Japanese class was full (Japanese was all the rage that time) So three years in UiTM and 2 years in UKM, I was quite enamoured with it. I could at least read basic mandarin. Though honestly I'm really bad with the intonations. Don't ask.

                            Apparently I excelled in my subject that at the end of my sem, I got an A. Which surprised myself because a few native speakers in my class also got As. The best memory was this- my lecturer, Wong laoshi, called me and talked to me. She told me that if I wanted to become a mandarin lecturer, she was willing to teach me and guide me all the way until I got a degree or master in mandarin. I was surprised and touched. Because she picked me and she was willing to guide me. But I had to refuse her because my love for English surpasses my love for any languages and I was, and am into literature. She said ok and she told me to study diligently. Xie xie laoshi. I will always remember your kind words and encouragement.
