Of Eowyn and Faramir

I have read a lot of stories and in them i found many, many adorably awesometastic couples, from Gone With The Wind to The Hunger Games, but there is always one couple whom I adore to pieces, and the book from which it sprang from was not of romance or chick lit but surprise, surprise, of fantasy genre.
Yes, the couple is, as stated in the title, Eowyn and Faramir from the trilogy of Lord of The Rings.

I know, many would say, "What?! Didn't know they are a couple..." That's the problem when people only watch the movies. And 3 movies does not justify the greatness of LOTR. There were many important narratives skipped and nonexistent narrative added (Arwen uugh..)

The readers are introduced to these two characters in book 2: The Two Towers though they never met.
LOVE this drawing!! Left, Boromir, and right, Faramir!
Faramir, the son of the Steward of Gondor, is left to keepsake Gondor from intruders or attack from Mordor and the All-Seeing Eye of Sauron after the death of his brother Boromir. He has all the duties thrust upon him yet he is the most splendid man in all of Gondor. He once catches Gollum but softly lets him go. He catches Frodo and Sam and when he hears about The Ring, he rejects it totally, which shows contrast to his brother. However, his father, the ruling steward of Gondor, blames him for Boromir's death (bad parenting here) and wishes they had changed places (omg) When finally Faramir falls under the shadow of the Nazgul that his father realises how much he loves his son (sob sob)

While Eowyn is a maiden who lives in distressed in the castle of Rohan, looking after her deteriorating uncle. She is in pain because she wants to escape the shackles that detain her-she longs to serve in the war like any other man but her obligation as a woman and princess leaves her be at Edoras. She falls in love with Aragorn, who understands her and treats her. But when Aragorn rejects her and leaves her to go to war, heart-broken and having no reason to live, she disguises as a soldier and goes into the Pelennor battlefield, in which, she single handedly kills the Witch-king Angmar (this is pretty awesome) and gives the decisive win to her side. She falls sick like Faramir as she had been under the Shadow (it's like a curse, near death effect, people under The Shadow would feel like dying and wants to die)

In the third book, they finally meet in The House of Healing. Both of them, Eowyn of Rohan and Faramir of Gondor are from two allied nations, they stay in the house, recuperating from the Shadow. At first, Faramir pities Eowyn, because she always looks sad and looking out to go to war, to death (an effect of being under the shadow and killing Angmar) but they talk to each other, share their fears and concern and finally they fall in love. It was so sweet actually, you have to read the book to get it.

I love this couple because:-
1. Both ARE great characters. Though you may call Faramir flat, but he is a round character. Eowyn is of course a dynamic character and she is pretty badass, just like Faramir. They are a balanced couple, not one is greater than the other. This is a stroke of genius from JRR Tolkien!
2. Both have gone through so much. They both have felt unloved and been taken for granted.
3. Both are noble characters. Eowyn, defending the ruin of Rohan from Wormtongue and Faramir from his psychotic father.
4. Both have hobbit fans-Eowyn has Merry's and Faramir has Pippin's loyalty.

Let me end this fanshipping with a few drawings of this ultimate couple

Why I adore Rose Tyler (2)

Well, she said, and I quote "No one upsets my mom" to the man who, well, upset her mom. That quote just reeks Buffy-ness and badassery. Followed quickly by this image

A few minutes after the quote above, the man who upset Rose's mom, apparently, in an altercation with an alien (it's Doctor Who, what gives) loses his true love, and Rose quickly goes to his side to calm him down. I really, really love her compassion. No wonder Tenth loves her so.

Adorkable Rory...

The Doctor : You are going to fire me at a planet? That’s your plan?
I get fired at a planet and expected to fix it?
Rory           : That is slightly your MO.
The Doctor : Don’t be fair to the Daleks when they are firing me at a planet!

Why I adore Rose Tyler

My Most Favourite Female Companion So Far...!

Henry van Statten: Who exactly are you?
The Doctor: I'm the Doctor and who are you?
Henry van Statten: Like you don't know. We're hidden away with the most valuable collection of extraterrestrial artifacts in the world and you just stumbled in by mistake?
The Doctor: Pretty much sums me up, yeah.
Henry van Statten: Question is, how did you get in? Fifty-three floors down, with your little cat-burglar accomplice. Quite a collector yourself. She's rather pretty.
Rose Tyler: She's gonna smack you if you keep calling her 'she'.

First time I think Rose is awesome. Till now.
